The SFPUC engaged MCK for Construction Management services on the $27.5 Million SSIP SEWPCP Primary & Secondary Clarifier project that will improve the service and reliability of the equipment and process with the primary and secondary clarifiers. Major scope of work included the installation of a ventilation system for the primary sedimentation tanks for the primary clarification process and upgrades to the secondary clarifiers. The project included upgrades to the mechanical, structural, electrical components at the sedimentation tanks to ensure seismic and operational reliability and compliance with treatment regulations. The contract stated that only one primary sedimentation tank could be drained and worked on at a time, and only four tanks could be taken offline during any annual four-month dry season. This requirement made it impossible to complete the repair on all tanks. The City's approval of our proposed solution enabled us to work on one secondary tank at a time during the wet weather season. This solution enabled the completion of this work on schedule.
