MCK, as a part of a joint venture, was recently announced Project Manager for the full modernization of Terminal 3 to upgrade infrastructure, improve building and technology systems, comply with the latest building fire and life safety code requirements, reconfigure security checkpoints, add concessions space, improve passenger flow, and meet SFO's standards of customer service.  This $800 Million project is scheduled to complete in 2021.

San Francisco International Airport, AirTrain Extension & Improvements Program

MCK is presently providing Cost Estimating and Scheduling services to the San Francisco International Airport under the Project Management Support Services contract for the Air Train Extension and Improvements Program.  This $500 Million project will provide for the design and construction of an elevated concrete guideway extension of roughly one mile from its current termination point at the Rental Car Center to Lot DD.  A new four-car station to serve Lot DD and the future Long Term Parking Garage No. 2 and the future Airport Hotel. Design, installation, testing, and commissioning of related AirTrain Operating System upgrade work and an upgrade from the 2001-era Train Control System to a new technology Line-of-Sight Train Control System for the entire AirTrain operating system is included. This project is scheduled to complete early 2020.

Transbay Transit Center

MCK provided key staff to the Construction Manager, Turner Construction, through 2017. The Transbay Transit Center Project is a visionary transportation and housing project that will transforms. the San Francisco Bay Area’s regional transportation system by creating a “Grand Central Station of the West” in the heart of a new transit-friendly neighborhood. The $4 billion project will replace the current Transbay Terminal at First and Mission streets in San Francisco with a modern regional transit hub connecting eight Bay Area counties and the State of California through 11 transit systems: AC Transit, BART, Caltrain, Golden Gate Transit, Greyhound, Muni, SamTrans, WestCAT Lynx, Amtrak, Paratransit and future High Speed Rail from San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim.


San Francisco International Airport, Terminal 2

MCK provided Construction Management services as part of the T2 Partners team. MCK led the Civil Works and MEP and tenant improvements. With the need to accommodate growth in passenger traffic, SFO broke ground on a $383 million project in September 2008, with the goal to renovate the facility into a state-of-the-art domestic terminal. The 575,000-square- foot terminal houses 12 restaurants, nine retail stores, a gourmet marketplace, 14 gates, major works of public art and a pedestrian bridge to AirTran, which connects to Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).

Central Subway Tunnel Project

MCK is teamed with AECOM to provide Construction Management for the tunnel and substations construction. MUNI’s Central Subway Project is the second phase of the Third Street Rail Project in San Francisco, which will link neighborhoods in the southeastern part of the city with retail and employment centers downtown. The $1.5 billion dollar tunnel project will reduce air and noise pollution, relieve surface congestion and reduce travel times, as well as connect to Bart and Caltrain, giving riders an easy route to their destinations outside of the city.
