Aria Sky Villas MGM/Mirage CityCenter
Las Vegas, CA
MCK provided cost estimating services, constructibility studies, preliminary budgeting and value engineering for the largest privately financed project in the US at $8.5B with six high rise buildings from 27 to 58 floors, 300,000 square foot convention center, 150,000 square foot casino, 500,000 square foot Retail, 1,840 seat showroom, 5,891 hotel rooms, 560 condos a parking structures all totaling 18,000,000 square feet. This project also included an Automated People Mover, extensive infrastructure and major highway structure on a 65-acre site.
MCK served as leader for the owner selected Project Expedited Team and was responsible for overseeing the construction of the 16 Ultra-Luxury "High-Roller" Suites, located on the top three floors of the Aria tower, a 90,000sf project that was constructed on a $60M budget.
MCK was hand selected to coordinate the completion of this vital element of the Aria on a near impossible schedule/deadline starting in August 2009. Multiple design delays caused these suites to fall behind the rest of the tower construction. Starting in August 2009, MCK led all coordination required to deliver the suites to MGM Mirage on time. MCK completely restructured the management, subcontractors, and overall tone of the project. Implemented policies which held staff and subcontractors accountable. Provided constant encouragement in reaching our ultimate collective goal. With the resources provided/approved by MGM Mirage, MCK assembled a team that was delivered on time for the opening. This effort required the coordination of the constriction/personnel on a 24/7 work schedule. Supervised daily constriction activities of all trades, conducted daily field and office meetings, as well as hosted weekly MGM Mirage executive tours to evaluate the progress. These suites are the most high profile facets of the CityCenter in the eyes of the MGM Mirage's executive staff.
