Construction Inspector - Bay Area, California

Location: Bay Area, CA 

MCK provides Construction Management and Inspection services on a number of projects in San Francisco Bay Area for public agencies. Specifically MCK is looking for an inspector for water/wastewater projects so experience in that project scope is preferred but all project sectors welcome.

Job Description

We are looking for candidates with experience providing civil construction inspection for projects pertaining to transportation, bridge, rail and tunneling projects.

Candidates must demonstrate a first‐rate work ethic, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Inspector shall perform all duties on-site required for Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) for the project.

Responsibilities may include: 

• Ability to work within project and program team environments.

• Conduct visual inspections of work performed for adherence to contract documents including specifications and standards.

• Prepare project documentation including daily reports, force account tracking sheets, materials testing and field quality assurance reports, progress photos, and other construction records.

• Attend trainings as needed.

• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

General Requirements/Qualifications

• 5+ years experience (MEP, Electrical, Structural, Civil Inspection) on public works projects. 

• Experience on water/wastewater projects with local agencies preferred. 

• 10+ years in construction industry 

• Proficient in computer programs and software.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work to strict deadlines.

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.

• Can work efficiently autonomously on a project.

• Accreditations, Certifications, and/or relevant licenses are preferred. 

• Strong character, a positive attitude, and the desire to be a part of a fun, growing company is a must!
