Construction Inspector - High Speed Rail Project

Position Type: Full-time, On-Site 

 

Location: Fresno area, CA 

 

The California high-speed rail will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. The system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations. The project is being executed in multiple phases. This phase is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County. It includes 12 grade separations, two viaducts, one tunnel and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River. Work location and tasks may vary based on client needs.

Job Description

We are looking for candidates with experience providing civil construction inspection for projects pertaining to transportation, bridge, rail and tunneling projects.

 

Candidates must demonstrate a first‐rate work ethic, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The Inspector shall perform all duties on-site required for Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) for the project.

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Ability to work within project and program team environments.

  • Conduct visual inspections of work performed for adherence to contract documents including specifications and standards.

  • Prepare project documentation including daily reports, force account tracking sheets, materials testing and field quality assurance reports, progress photos, and other construction records.

  • Attend trainings as needed.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

General Requirements/Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience (MEP, Electrical, Structural, Civil Inspection) on transportation and/or rail and tunnel infrastructure construction projects. 

  • 10+ years in construction industry 

  • Transportation inspection experience.

  • Proficient in computer programs and software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.

  • Can work efficiently autonomously on a project.

  • Accreditations, Certifications, and/or relevant licenses are preferred. 

  • Strong character, a positive attitude, and the desire to be a part of a fun, growing company is a must!
