Job Description

We’re growing and are looking for Cost Estimators and Senior Cost Estimators across California. In this role you will provide cost estimating services for pre-construction through project closeout. We are looking for reliable and hard-working individuals that take pride in their work. Candidates must demonstrate first-rate work ethics, strong attention to detail and communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Cost estimating for pre-construction, support for the review and assessment of change requests and value engineering change proposals.

  • Perform constructability and preliminary take-offs.

  • Review proposed design changes and prepare estimates within appropriate accuracy levels.

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to help prepare a schedule, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

  • Review contractor and subcontractor change order estimates.

  • Conduct or attend cost reconciliation meetings.

General Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of recent experience in cost estimating of medium to large and complex construction projects.

  • Prepared and evaluated medium to large change order cost proposals with a value of over $25 million within the past five (5) years.

  • Experience in Rail and Rail Bridges, Stations, and Right-of-Way work in California.

  • Baccalaureate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or relevant discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

  • Cost estimator certificate such as Certified Cost Engineer CCE or Certified Professional Estimator CPE is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency with HeavyBid is preferred
