Christine Smith

This month, we have the pleasure of highlighting one of the amazing team members down in SoCal, Christine Smith! Since joining the team, Christine has been able to leverage her deep familiarity and strong relationships at LAX to navigate the fast-paced Terminal 5 Renovation & Reconstruction Project. Her skillset fills a real need for our SoCal team and strengthens our ability to compete in project controls pursuits! More importantly her patience and sense of humor makes the grind feel a little lighter. Her favorite MCK memory was getting to meet her fellow team members at a team dinner for the first time and really appreciated how welcoming everyone was! In her over 22 years in the biz, her favorite memory was watching a co-worker participate in a TV event to create & build a mini bridge and see if it could withstand a simulated earthquake. One bridge collapsed in such a funny way that they all couldn't help but laugh!

Currently with MCK, Christine is one of our key controls personnel with her depth of experience across aviation, hospitals, and education, and is currently on our LAWA team with the construction of T5 for the 2028 LA Olympics!

Favorite Project:

Los Angeles World Airports Terminal 5 Renovation & Reconstruction

As part of the $1.7B Terminal Development Improvement Program at LAX, MCK is providing project delivery services for the Terminal 5 (T5) Renovation, which is expected to complete in record time ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The project includes the demolition, reconstruction and renovation of the 15-gate terminal and the reconstruction of the aircraft apron surrounding T5. Facility improvements will improve the user experience, energy efficiency, and meet current safety and seismic standards. T5 currently houses American Airlines and JetBlue.
