Since 1940, Sunset Playground has offered residents nearly four-acres of recreation space. MCK provided cost estimating services to the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department for the $14M park renovation. With community wishes and input, the goal of the Sunset Playground renovations was to ensure the exterior would reflect its new interior. The upgrades to the recreation center provide the community with bleachers, community rooms, a ping pong room, a gymnasium, locker rooms and storage facilities. To complement the indoor features, the park features an improved baseball field, basketball court, two tennis courts, with efforts to appease to sports-minded park visitors; as well as children play areas and a small community garden.
