The project will bring the city its first Bus Rapid Transit. Scope of the project included repaving Van Ness Avenue, enhanced traffic signals, hardware and software, new transit vehicles, dedicated transit-only lanes, sidewalk extensions, crosswalk enhancements, an overhaul of emergency firefighting system that provides water to hundreds of fire hydrants, an electrical ductbank and streetlight/pole replacement. The project also included replacing more than 22,000feet of 150year old water main and upgrades to the underground sewer system.
